Beacause some were slaves at one time I think it best to never mention anything that might have us even consider it. <BR/>Sheesh!<BR/>Let's grow up people. Slavery was a part of our history as was negro spirituals that make up this great country. We don't have to live in the past but we should also not shy away from it. We have become so silly in the pursuit of political correctness (something unattainable I might add) that we lose where we came from and where we are going.<BR/><BR/>Yes it was a slave song. but let us celebrate it in it's uniqueness and it's place in americana.
