"So, I sat on the edge of the coffee table and explained the whole “Boy Who Cried Wolf” thing. I further explained the whole “Daddy could accidentally end up in jail” thing. Before he was in bed, we were on the same page. Now, he’s asleep and dreaming of Safeside Superchick."

Without ever meeting "the boy", I can't help but think, he's asleep and dreaming of a better way to send Daddy to jail the next time things don't go his way.

I laughed so hard I peed someone else's pants.

First, even at almost 12, my son will occasionally decide he "can't" finish his burger at the Mexican restaurant (or any other dining establishment).

Second, I so love your child for scaring you with his silliness. The fact that he has such a perverse sense of humor delights me to no end. You do realize this is only going to get worse as he gets older, right?

I'll have to check out the "stranger danger" recommendation. I've been wondering what to do about my daughter, who engages strangers with complete indiscretion. This is the same child that I couldn't peel off my body until she was 2 1/2 years old. Obviously my enmeshment with her did not make her anti-social. I used to want to peel her off me. Now I want to hold her a bit a closer.

And the bathroom thing....I've sooo been there!

Nice he'll dream about superwatzits. I imagine most of his dreams include a super something. He should while he still has the power to place super powers on even inanimate objects.

You, of course, can dream about logs -- mouse or otherwise. Seems a fitting transition to make from youth to 'maturity'.

The wife will worshipfuly dream about the man of her constant thoughts as is her duty. Imagined improvements are allowed. Am guessing it won't be quite the rotunding klutz and much closer to a Danielle Steele cover.

Sleep well, Fabiotis.

The part about having to go to the bathroom with your kid the second your food arrives struck a chord . . .

The rest of it? I just laughed until my stomach hurt. Imagining the pained look on your face as your son screams "This is not my dad . . . "

I'm sorry . . . his defiance is prime blog material . . . !
